special praise report: from generation to generation

Some of you may remember Jose Antonio, one of the first migrant workers who came to Christ through this ministry.  That was in fourteen years ago, in 2009.  At that time, Jose had a one-year-old son.  This year, Jose sent me a photo of his son Adolfo’s 15th birthday celebration.  We chatted a bit, and I asked him whether Adolfo was still attending church with them in Mexico.  Jose replied that Adolfo was not only attending church, but that he had been baptized a month prior to his birthday.

This has been so encouraging for me, and I hope it is an encouragement to all of you as well.  Even after many years, God has allowed us to see that He is still at work in the lives of the men who heard the gospel here in Canada.  And like the parable of the mustard seed, we can see the growth of Christ’s church into the next generation.  Praise the Lord.

Special request: Used bicycles needed

Do you have an extra bike that is collecting dust?

As we head into warmer weather, a number of migrant workers have asked us if we have any bicycles. If you have a bike that you are no longer using and would like to donate it to the ministry, please give Pastor Carlos a call at 604.505.8484 or send him an email at carrioncarlos4@gmail.com. We are looking for adult-sized bikes in good working order. Thank you!

who we are

The Migrant Workers Ministry of BC began with a vision to reach all temporary foreign workers in BC with the message of the gospel.

Pastor Carlos Carrion, his family, and a team of volunteers have been providing support and assistance to migrant workers in BC since 2009. Migrant workers face many challenges as they adjust to a new workplace, language and culture in Canada. This ministry assists with those challenges, as well as providing recreational activities that allow the workers to relax and socialize in healthy, community-building ways. It is our hope that the messages shared at our events will find good soil, and that the seed of the gospel will take root in the lives of these men. Indeed, we have seen many souls come to Christ. It is not unusual to hear from workers years later. They often call just to thank us and to let us know what God is doing in their lives. We are always thankful to God for the opportunity to serve Him through this ministry and with this great team of volunteers. It is our hope and prayer that God will continue to use this ministry to bring souls to Himself.

Our vision: a British Columbia in which migrant workers are made disciples so that upon returning to their homeland they are able to share the message of salvation with their families, friends, and communities.

The Migrant Workers Ministry of BC is a ministry of Fellowship Pacific under the leadership of Todd Chapman of the Church Lifecycles Team. It is supported through partnering churches and individuals who share Pastor Carlos’ passion for introducing the Gospel to temporary foreign workers (TFWs) in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
